Performance High Voice and Music Studio is excited to partner with Rhapsody on Broadway to present a fun, fair, and entertaining one-night, one-round amateur karaoke contest with almost $2000 worth of amazing prizes – cash and otherwise! With only 24 singers competing, you have a one in three chance of winning a prize!

Fee to Participate: $10

Grand Prize for the Overall Winner: Join a Performance High band in early 2025, rehearse weekly, and then perform with them at a showcase on Sunday April 13 at Nissi’s – worth $500!

Judges: Two vocal coaches from Performance High, one judge from the Karaoke World Championships, and THE AUDIENCE (as measured by a dB meter)!

Songs: You can find the song list at https://www.karafun.com/karaoke-song-list.html. All songs Rhapsody plays are from the Karafun library. You must email your song choice to Performance High ([email protected]) by Tuesday December 10 at midnight. If two people submit the same song, the person who submitted it first gets it. Absolutely NO song changes after Tuesday December 10 at midnight.

Show Schedule: The order of singers will be random and posted in advance. Three pro singers from Rhapsody will make appearances throughout the night.

Scores: Scores will be based on Vocal Technique, Stage Performance, Song Interpretation, and Audience Response. Audience response will be measured with a dB meter, and measured for both volume and duration. Bring friends to cheer for you long and loud!

• Vocal Technique: Tone, pitch accuracy, enunciation, genre appropriateness, use of head/chest/mix as needed, ease of production, breath support.
• Stage Performance: Dress, confident appearance, attitude, movement, facial expressions, audience connection.
• Song Interpretation: Conveying the song’s meaning, creativity in interpreting and expressing song lyrics and/or melody, sense of authenticity and appropriateness for the singer.

After Best Overall, which wins the grand prize, winners pick the prize they want from the prize pool in the following order:
