Ingrid Parker
Associate Vocal Coach, Music Instructor
Ingrid Parker is a multi-talented musician and songwriter, who has been teaching music to students of all ages across diverse demographics for over 15 years.
Ingrid discovered her love of music at a young age singing in school choir and playing french horn in band, and soon realized that it was her lifelong calling. She attended the University of Arizona for her Bachelors in Music Education, where she learned to play and teach wind, percussion, and string instruments. She later attended Sam Houston State University for a Masters in Instrumental Conducting. After many years of teaching, Ingrid came to Performance High to revisit her love of singing and to explore the skill of songwriting, and joined the PH Faculty 5 years later, to put her unique combination of specialties to use in serving our community.
Ingrid holds as her core belief that music is for everyone – there is no “not good enough” to hold people back from cultivating their creativity and pursuing their artistic dreams. As such, Ingrid prioritizes meeting her students exactly where they are in their musical journey, and through nurturing and skill-building, finding a pathway to growth collaboratively. She loves to hone in on the individual’s needs, and draws on her extensive teaching experience and strong active listening skills to customize a curriculum, identify tools, and set appropriate goals that help each student feel successful and confident in their progress.
Ingrid has released two singles under her artist name, “The Talisman”, and is constantly accumulating knowledge towards her own growth, in order to emulate her colleagues and achieve the level of expertise and professionalism that she sees around her at Performance High.
