“Music heals us; music saved my life. I would not be here today if it was not for music.
One of the biggest reasons people write music is because it heals them, through connection or through empathy. People are looking for validation that they are not alone. We as humans need to know that others have experienced similar feelings in order to feel accepted and affirmed.
There was a time in my life where I was ready to take my own life, but it was music – specifically the song ‘Who You Are’ by Jessie J – that prevented that from happening. The connection that I felt with Jessie J through her song made me realize I was not alone. That connection saved my life.” – Ziong Vue
