How to Get Exactly What You Want

I wish but one thing for you for 2010:

That you know without a doubt what you most deeply desire out of life.

It's easy to know what we should want.  It's easy to set achievement-oriented goals that look good on paper.  It's easy to set goals for "shoulds" because we feel like we "should" achieve this number or that status or that goal.

But more important is that you KNOW YOUR DEEPEST DESIRES.  Once you know what that is,  everything else will become easier.  Decisions will become clearer.  Obstacles will become smaller.  Life will become more exciting.  You will start finding ways to get what you want.

Of course there's more to getting what you want than just knowing it.  But getting what you want requires first knowing exactly what you most deeply desire.

I'd love to hear from you what your deepest desire is, either for 2010 or out of this lifetime.  Feel free to post a comment below.

For inspiration, I suggest the following two books which have had a profound influence on my level of inspiration and determination:

What Should I Do with My Life?: The True Story of People Who Answered the Ultimate Question - Don't know what your mission is?  This book is one of my all-time favorites.

Think and Grow Rich: The 21st-Century Updated Edition - This book has been around for decades but continues to sell millions of copies every year.  I highly recommend it.  It's not just about getting money riches.  It's about getting whatever you most desire.

First off I love the videos Adrienne. They're very powerful. Everything you said in your article about stage fright is easily multiplied by 10 when we can see and hear you speaking it. I'm honestly touched.

And that's what I want most for my life is to touch other people. Nothing feels better than knowing you inspired someone to do whatever it is that truly makes them happy. Or at the very least pulled them out of the fog if not for at least a brief moment. Just thinking about those moments makes me smile.
