What are Track Programs?
Track programs...
- Are a blend of classes, group lessons, and master classes. (Master classes are individual lessons done in front of other students, so that everyone can learn.)
- Are one hour long and take place weekly for eight weeks.
-
Have new information or a new technique every week, so you get more information than in unstructured private lessons.
- Include time in every session for you to sing a song (or two) of your choice, and get advice and help specific to your needs.
How do track programs work?
- You'll join one of three tracks based on your current singing ability and schedule. (Contact me to discuss.)
- Each track session is limited to only THREE (no longer FOUR) students.
- In each track session, we spend some time on content (information or techniques), some time on discussion, and the rest of the time on master-class-style lessons for every student present.
Why are track programs better?
- You'll have more information and resources prepared in advance, contrary to the “on the fly” approach of most private lessons.
-
You'll improve your performance faster because you'll have frequent fun, low-pressure opportunities to sing in front of someone other than your voice coach.
-
If you have stage fright, you'll get over it quickly in this supportive environment.
-
Track sessions are fun! Everyone is supportive, friendly, and encouraging. Oversize egos are checked at the door.
-
Track programs are more flexible than both classes AND private lessons because if you can't make your usual session one week, you can usually just come to another session that week. Just ask first.
-
You will have opportunities to learn things you won't learn in private lessons – such as blending, singing harmonies, and learning from the questions that other students ask.
-
Track programs are more affordable than one-on-one private lessons.

"Before I started the track programs, I was nervous... I didn't know what types of students would be in the classes, if there would be a competition between students.... But... we got along famously, and I learned a lot from her, and I really took a lot out of working with another student. It's so comfortable, and we are both just so willing to learn from each other, and try different things, and sound silly. I think it's really beneficial to work with other students and learn from their strengths and their weaknesses and their questions. I feel like I learn something new every lesson. It's definitely been a good experience."
"You don't feel judged because everyone else is doing what you're doing, so you finally start to understand that it's cool and it's OK to do what you're doing. I started off being nervous in front of people... singing... but the more I'd practice here, the more I'd relate it into singing at home... wherever, with my friends around, singing at work, and it's gotten to the point where people can't shut me up, I'm always singing. And it's becoming annoying because I don't care what they think anymore, I just want to sing because I enjoy it."
